Alabama Marriage License

The license can be from any county in the State of Alabama, but we suggest Baldwin County.

The Bride & Groom must apply together in person and must be at least 18 years of age or must have a written parental consent.

There is no waiting period nor blood test for a marriage license in the state of Alabama unless you are recently divorced. In that instance, there is a 60 day waiting period once the divorce is final.

Both the Bride and the Groom must provide a state issued ID and a copy of your birth certificate certified by the State or County, a military identification, or a certified school record.  A Social Security card or any legal document that shows your social security number (i.e. W2, pay check, school record, etc.) must be presented when purchasing your marriage license.

The fee for a Marriage License is $40.00. The only acceptable form of payment is cash.

If you need a certified copy of a marriage license that was issued in Baldwin county, you should provide the month, day and year of the marriage, and names of the bride and groom. Send this information and $3.00 to the Probate Office, Marriage License Section at PO Box 459, Bay Minette, Al 36507. A certified copy will be mailed to you. All payments should be in the form of a money order or cashier’s check.
